GenieLadder 15 kb DNA Ladder is a ready-to-load DNA size standard for agarose gel electrophoresis, composed of 7 discrete fragments spanning 250-15,000 bp. It is supplied premixed in 1x loading buffer so it can be pipetted directly onto the gel alongside your samples.
The ladder is designed for fast, reliable fragment sizing during routine molecular biology workflows such as PCR product verification, restriction digest analysis and cloning QC. Sharp, well-resolved bands make it easy to estimate the size of unknown fragments by direct comparison.

| 1 | Thaw the ladder and mix gently; it is already combined with loading buffer, so no further preparation is needed. |

Note: Higher agarose concentrations improve resolution of small fragments, while lower concentrations favour separation of larger fragments. Use high-purity agarose for the sharpest, brightest bands.
How much ladder should I load per lane?
For a standard well (5 mm or narrower) 5 ul gives clear, well-defined bands. Increase the volume proportionally for wider wells or thicker gels.
Do I need to add loading buffer?
No. The ladder is already supplied in 1x loading buffer with tracking dyes, so you can load it directly onto the gel.
What agarose concentration should I use?
We recommend 0.6% (1x TAE, 4-10 V/cm) agarose for this ladder. Adjust within that range depending on whether you need to resolve smaller or larger fragments.
How should I store it?
Store at -20 C, where the ladder is stable for 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve band sharpness.
What is the 15 kb ladder best suited to?
